Plant Manager

Vytex Windows has an immediate opening for a Plant Manager that will help maximize efficiency to join our rapidly growing team in Laurel, MD!

Main functions of this position:
• Optimize, implement, and successfully manage production efficiency
• Manage the day to day activities of the manufacturing process, assuring safety while also improving on quality control
• Manage and oversee the employment and training of production staff
• Analyze and implement process flow improvements, including capabilities for growth

Major Responsibilities:
• To efficiently manage and direct the daily production activities
• Maintain and improve process efficiency (automate stations, improve plant layout) and quality control
• To directly oversee and manage two Production Managers
• Recommend and implement optimal production solutions and machinery / equipment needs or acquisitions
• Manage production personnel; work allocation, training, and problem resolution
• Evaluate employee performance and motivate in order to achieve maximum productivity output
• Oversee and implement new products or improved product design
• Maintain a proactive machinery and equipment maintenance program
• Conduct and re-evaluate time studies for production processes
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly, Management reporting
• Ensuring accountability and timeliness from Factory staff will be a key

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing (custom fabricated product experience is a plus)
• Prior experience supervising a team
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance
• Ability to multitask
• High level of organization is critical
• Ensuring accountability and timeliness from Factory staff

Window Installer (Subcontractor)

Vytex Windows is looking to add top quality subcontractors to install our custom vinyl windows in our MD/VA, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh area markets.   We are looking for expert level window installers with a minimum of 3+ years of residential installation experience to be considered. We are growing quickly and can offer stable work year-round.

Qualified Candidates will possess the following: 

  • 3+ years previous window installation experience
  • Residential installation experience is a must
  • Must have your own Liability Insurance and any Worker’s Compensation Insurance where required
  • We ask that you treat each and every customer with the greatest care and professionalism. We are catering to a high-end consumer, offer a premium product – and it’s very important the customer’s interaction with us, as well as the Installer, is of the utmost satisfaction level
  • Act as the liaison between the customer and Vytex to communicate any issues which may occur during installation of product.

Process Engineer 

Vytex Windows is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD!

The Process Engineer will support operations with the objective of minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency, quality and employee safety. This will be accomplished through justification and implementation of capital projects, leadership of continuous improvement initiatives, sharing and implementation of best practices and support for new product introductions

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, coordinate and improve manufacturing methods in all operations
  • Develop, execute and track project plans and targeted metrics/milestones
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirement, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts according to specifications and quality standards
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Develops and implements appropriate training related to process control for existing and new processes
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and capacities
  • Study the work environment, human capabilities and equipment design for optimum human/machine interface with emphasis on environment, health, safety and productivity
  • Use basic concepts of financial analysis, investment planning and cost controls as they apply to investments in manufacturing
  • Assist product development teams with new product introductions
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to inspire, teach, coach and mentor team members to implement and sustain lean practices.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data relevant to engineering and manufacturing issues.  Knowledgeable in Six Sigma techniques and use of the DMAIC process.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (desired) and experience utilizing all applicable tools
  • Strong program and project management skills.
  • Detailed understanding of Lean Principles and how they apply to equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and supporting documents
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Computer Skills:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD is required

Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) is required
  • A minimum of two years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is also required
  • Project Management experience is preferred

Service Technician

Vytex Windows is currently seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our growing team in our MD/VA, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh area markets! In this position, you will be responsible for attending 8-10 daily appointments to service our window products.

This role offers a competitive hourly salary, plus a company vehicle and gas card. This is a Monday-Friday position and every other Saturday. The hours typically run from 7am-5pm. We offer medical benefits and 401K with a match program.

Service issues can include;

  • changing balances, locks, night latches
  • replacing sashes/glass units
  • touch up painting and/or caulking
  • re-screening and/or installing new screens
  • inspecting air/water leaks

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years punch out, window installation or other service related experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and natural desire to make a customer happy
