Choosing Windows For Your Home By Room

Choosing windows for your home can be a challenge. It’s an investment and you want to make sure you get it right. But how do you narrow down the options and create a beautiful space without compromising on functionality? Here are some things to consider:

Are your windows functioning properly? Are you looking to update to something long-lasting and energy efficient? Making the decision to replace windows in your home gives you the opportunity to increase efficiency, ensure durability and to change the overall look and feel of your home.

Next, you’ll want to take the style of your home into consideration. This will help you narrow down the types of windows while staying true to or updating your homes architectural style.

It’s also important to consider your environment. If you live in a coastal area, you’ll want to look for windows with superior wind resistance and durability. When considering outside temperatures, energy efficiency windows will be vital for keeping energy bills low and your home comfortable. You’ll also want to factor in your home’s altitude and yearly climate.

Purchasing windows can be daunting. But, as a homeowner it’s important to remember that windows are an investment in your home. Depending on the type you choose, they have an excellent ROI, can offer superior energy efficiency as well as functionality and curb appeal to your home.

Living Room Window Ideas

Show Stopping Living Rooms

Living rooms are often some of the largest spaces in the home and a great place to experiment with window design. First, consider how you’d like the space to work. To draw interest to the outside view, opt for a large picture window or wall of windows. To create a custom look and add interest, experiment with different types of windows. If you want to invite the breeze in, adding awning or casement windows with static windows is an excellent way to combine beauty and functionality. If a cozy reading nook is what you’re looking for, consider a bay window.

Choosing Kitchen Windows

Custom Kitchen

Kitchens are all about functionality. Here, you’ll want to consider ease of use and accessibility. Sliding windows are an excellent choice for the kitchen as they are easy to clean and operate. For hard to reach areas like behind the kitchen sink, a casement window offers easy to access and operation. Bay windows can add design interest and allow homeowners to keep an eye on the kids in the backyard. A Bay window would also make for an excellent addition around a breakfast nook.

Modern Kitchen Windows

Classic Dining Room

Again, you’ll want to consider how you want this space to work. A Bay or Bow window can add interest to a dining room and paired with casement or double hung windows, can also provide great airflow. A wall of double hung windows can allow for a comfortable space and amply natural light. To make a real statement, you could opt for a wall of windows on multiple walls paired with a door to open the space to an outdoor living space. The possibilities are endless.

Bathroom Windows

Bold & Functional Bathrooms

The primary concern for any bathroom is privacy and ventilation. That doesn’t mean that you need to sacrifice beauty for functionality. Allow natural light without compromising on privacy or ventilation needs by incorporating awning windows higher up on the bathroom wall. If privacy isn’t an immediate concern, create your own oasis by adding a large picture window or wall of windows. Imagine soaking in the bath while enjoying the view. Incorporate grid details and glass options for a custom look and added privacy.

Bedroom window design

Serene Bedrooms

Bedrooms are private space meant to be peaceful and tranquil. They are also an excellent space to experiment with window designs and treatments. Add dimension by adding bay or bow windows for plants or cozy reading areas. Double hung and casement windows are operable allowing you to open them for fresh air – combining beauty and functionality. Night locks can keep your home secure while allowing for fresh air flow during the hot summer and energy efficient windows will ensure your bedroom is a comfortable space.

Whatever windows you choose for your space, make sure they are long-lasting and durable, providing beauty and efficiency for years to come.

Had a contractor in NJ replace 17 windows using Vytex Windows in the spring. The windows are very strong and look high end. The new windows definitely helped with the drafts. Our old windows were original from 1987 and our home was freezing in the winter and hot as an oven in the summer. The new Vytex windows definitely got rid of the draft issue we had and the difference is very noticeable especially in the bedrooms. Next on our list is a new patio door from Vytex.

I am writing a nice review on my Vytex window experience. We are in new jersey and had all new windows installed about 10 months ago as well as a Vytex patio door. Our home was very drafty and made it very uncomfortable in the cold winter months and just as bad when it was hot in the summer. Our home is now much warmer and quite noticeable. The difference was equally noticeable this past summer when we had a heat wave; our home was much cooler...
